Yellowstone Park is a gigantic adventure playground featuring a tremendous wildlife diversity, mysterious geysers and hot springs, breathtaking natural splendor and once-in-a-lifetime experiences. With a private day tour, you’ll get the benefit of customising your own itinerary with resident experts who will help you see the best of the park’s attractions.
Although inhabited for over ten thousand years, Yellowstone was only truly discovered by North American settlers in the last 150 years. Explorers who chanced upon the region before the 1860s were dismissed as fantasists who had fabricated their accounts of Yellowstone - after all, tales of a land filled with prehistoric forests and giant erupting geysers were difficult to buy into at the time.
Thankfully, Yellowstone was eventually discovered by the mainstream and its importance as a potential worldwide nature attraction realised by its first guardian, Nathaniel Langford. Since then the park has been protected and preserved from commercial misuse, and still stands as a world-class nature and wildlife reserve.
As the world’s first and arguably most famous national park, Yellowstone has a plethora of attractions within its grounds. No visit would be complete without a visit to Old Faithful, but there’s more to be discovered in the wilderness outside of the main tourism spots.
The scope of the wildlife watching which can be enjoyed at Yellowstone is astounding - as an ecosystem within its own rights, it is likely that you will see animals such as elk, moose, bison, coyotes, lynx, bears, mountain lions, wolves… the list goes on!
In terms of the physicality of the landscape, it is highly recommended to take the time to visit the Yellowstone Grand Canyon, a tucked-away beauty spot in the park (not to be confused with its Arizonian namesake.) Here you’ll find the awesome Lower Falls, almost twice the height of Niagara! There are many vantage points for gaining excellent views of the canyon, some fairy easy to access and others requiring exhilarating and challenging hikes.
The beauty of this tour is in its customizability - if you want to do or see something in Yellowstone, your personal team of experts will make it happen. You might opt for a relaxing motor ride around the key attractions, or perhaps you’d prefer to do some serious hiking in the park’s wilderness areas. Alternatively, give your guides a vague idea of what you’d like to get out of your day and they’ll craft an itinerary accordingly - there’s so much you’ll want cram into your time at Yellowstone that you probably won‘t want to have to worry about planning all the details.
