Mountain Biking in Oregon

Mountain Biking in Oregon

Traverse rocky trails following the majestic North Umpqua River and breathe in fresh air on this three day mountain biking trip in Oregon. Your guides will take care of everything, from meals to camping to snacks out on the trail, so all you have to do is keep your legs moving and soak in your gorgeous surroundings.

The Umpqua River runs all the way from the Cascade Mountains in Oregon to the Pacific Ocean and is rich in the history or the area. Many of the local natural sites still retain their Native American names and your guides will be able to explain all of the meanings behind the names. The area is well known to people seeking adventure in the great outdoors as it is the perfect spot for biking, hiking and all kinds of fishing.

Saying this tour is simply three days of mountain biking in Oregon does not do it justice. You will be cycling through a canyon with some amazing river views. You've seen the movie footage of eagles flying over canyons and majestic forests filled with trees that have been around for hundreds of years - now you will be riding through it! This is the most non-invasive way of getting to see this stretch of wilderness, you won't be disturbing any of the plants or animals but rather getting a rare chance to see them in their natural habitat. The riding will be intense but very satisfying. For the most part you will be cycling in the canyon, you will be out of breath but loving it when you get to the top and are rewarded with amazing views of the idyllic scene below and will be awed at the crashing sound of the Lemolo Waterfall - just a few of the beautiful sights that will be packed into your three day journey.

The cycling routes on this tour are designed to be challenging, you don't need to be Lance Armstrong but intermediate mountain biking skills are strongly recommended. This tour also involves camping so if you know that's not for you, you might be better off booking Cog Wild's Bike and Brew Weekend. You will be in a group with other riders so if you want some privacy, this might not be the best tour for you. But if you are after a holiday that's a bit active where you get to really put yourself in the middle of some amazing scenery, this would be a great tour to book.
